The second Bangkarera race started at May 12,2017 held in dumaguete is
hosted by Pioneer.The bangka or (small fishing boats) modified to become faster
for racing,the racing spot is just in front of the Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete.
Racers bangka even fly through the waves just like of those speed boats.
The Pioneer Epoxy second National Bangkarera race 2017 taked off in Dumaguete City Friday with 40 teams and 140 racers from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao taking part in the two-day sporting occasion.
Elimination rounds for the Bangkarera 2017 took place on Friday morning at the Rizal Boulevard with the championship set on Saturday afternoon and the awarding in the evening.
The Bangkarera is part of the 60th anniversary festival of Republic Chemical Industries, the maker of Pioneer Epoxy bonds, paints and sealants.
More than P500 thousand pesos is at chance for the winners with P100 thousand for the champion in the 16 horsepower category, P80 thousand for the second prize and P50 thousand for the third prize.
For the seven-horsepower class, the champion gets P80 thousand pesos and P60 thousand pesos for the ASD champion and P50 thousand for the paddle boat group champion.
6 racers from every category will move ahead to the championship round which is planned.
The 2-day Bangkarera challenge 2017 will finish with a fireworks show at the boulevard following the awarding ceremony Saturday afternoon.
